Ocean Heroes provides help to Autistic Children and families in our community. They teach the kids how to surf and enjoy the ocean. This allows them to get more out of their lives living with Autism. During August, Autospark traditionally donates the recycling fees from your old battery when purchasing a new one at any of our locations. This ensures correct environmentally conscious disposal and we get to help a community group in need. Very much a win / win for everyone.
People helping people. Ocean Heroes provides children with autism the opportunity to take part in organised sport in a highly supported and structured environment. Ocean Heroes combines compassion, skill and professionalism to provide children with a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of catching a wave and getting a level of enjoyment from the ocean that many take for granted.
Autospark always looks forward to this time each year to give some assistance to a worthy recipient that is active in our community helping others.
In that, we have been an active and proud supporter of the national The Cancer Council’s ‘Daffodil Day’ for a long time. During August each year, Autospark donates the recycling fees from your old battery when purchasing a new one at any of our locations. This ensures correct environmentally conscious disposal and we get to help the Cancer Council’s long running and very worthy cause.
It’s simply a matter of people helping people in the best possible way. If you have a Mother, Father, Sister, Brother or Best Friend, there’s every chance your life will be touched by cancer. No matter who you are, Daffodil Day is for you and they need your support.
Daffodil Day was first held by the Canadian Cancer Society in the early 1980s, and by the NSW Cancer Council in 1986. Established as an Australia-wide event in 1992, it has become the largest fund raising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The Cancer Council raises millions each year on Daffodil Day, providing vital funds for research, education and support services, for us all.
Autospark looks forward to this year’s event. Daffodil Day officially falls on the fourth Friday in August each year.
Sustainability is a word that is taken seriously at Autospark. Every day we do all we can to minimise our impact on the environment, even the simplest of things like basic business recycling. It is vital for all of us to adopt a serious responsibility in the care of our planet in everything we do.
As one example, typically when we supply a new battery for your vehicle, we take the old off your hands, but where does it go from there because a battery and its components is not overly eco-friendly. Our Scrap Batteries are disposed of responsible in an environmental manner and as a bonus, any proceeds from the recyclable sale of scrap batteries are donated to The Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day or a host of other worthy causes we enjoy offering some small support to.
Battery recycling is yet another win/win scenario for us, our customers and supportive groups within our community who need our help.
